In collaboration with a Japanese Bladesmith family of over 750 years, the Octopod Classic uses an AUS10 stainless steel that allows for a thin blade that is easy to care for, and thick enough for heavier duty tasks like breaking down chickens/rib roasts.
The long, pointed blade is used for slicing, chopping, and precision work. This knife style is most similar to a German or French chef’s knife.

Many years ago my mother gifted me some German cutlery that replaced the "Good Cook" brand chef's knife I acquired at the grocery store. It elevated my game to a new level, and I thought I had reached knife nirvana.

I've never been one to think that a more expensive knife can really make a difference. Man was I wrong. You feel it immediately when you hold it for the first time. It's a perfect extension of your hand. The way it slices through scallions and fish skin without any resistance blew my mind. I can't believe I waited this long to get something that makes the world of a difference in feeling even more comfortable in the kitchen
