In collaboration with a Japanese Bladesmith family of over 750 years, the Octopod Classic uses an AUS10 stainless steel that allows for a thin blade that is easy to care for, and thick enough for heavier duty tasks like breaking down chickens/rib roasts.
The long, pointed blade is used for slicing, chopping, and precision work. This knife style is most similar to a German or French chef’s knife.

Some of the mastery from making katanas must have carried over, because this is the best knife I’ve ever used. I’ve tried German steel, ceramics with fancy sharpeners, and nothing has come close to the sharpness. The shape is also perfect. Use it for everything. Beautiful and functional, plus you never have to worry about your family or friends hurting themselves thanks to the quality construction of this blade.
